Take some time to create-yes, you!

Yesterday I shared a tiny sample of what I've been creating and painting this summer.  I didn't actually show very much of my progress because I really have started on my book project and some of the art will be seen in there! I've said for a couple of years I would self-publish a book all about truly living the rosy way, whether life was going well or not.  I have a much better title for the project than that which I'll share at a later time! Anyway, a lot of art I am saving up for the pages of my book and so only a bit is being shown here.  I do have something else artsy I want to share today and encourage you at the same time to allow yourself a few minutes of creativity!

You would think with the gobs of home time during the summer I would be creating for hours on end.  Yet, I'm still a mom with a house full of responsibilities just to keep things running.  It's not always easy to give myself permission to play, or the girls are needing/wanting me for something.  All of which is to be expected! I did have a very rare moment one afternoon when they were playing in their rooms and I had one of those little sparks.

Do you know what I mean? A little jolt of an idea and before I knew I had my scrapbook supplies out and was cutting and layering these little cards and having the best time!

Here is one example! This is two pieces of scrapbook paper layered together, with a sticker on top. I am completely obsessed with scrapbook supplies! There are just so many things you can do with all of the cute paper and stickers! My favorite place to shop for this kind of stuff is Tuesday Morning because it is often at least half off.

For these little cheery cards (I made more than I'm showing) I layered some paper and stickers and then stitched them all together on my sewing machine.  Easy and so fun!

I sent these to my faraway friend in the mail.  Yep, the real snail mail! I just adore happy mail and I bet someone in your life would too! I'm encouraging you today to remember how fun it is to take a bit of time to create.  Instead of just typing or scrolling with our fingers, get them messy and moving!
