A trip to the PW Mercantile!

Last week I checked another item off my bucket list-visiting the Pioneer Woman's Mercantile in OK! I took my mom, the girls, and my mom-in-law and we made the three hour drive from our house to the store. We arrived around 10:30 or so and right away put our names in for lunch, which we were told would be a 45 minute wait. We also grabbed one of the free tickets to visit The Lodge later that afternoon, where Ree's cooking show is filmed.

Once we had our name put in for lunch we started to shop!
The 45 minutes blew by honestly and before we were even ready I got a text saying our table was ready.  Props to whomever came up with the idea to send a text when your table is ready instead of having to wait in a long line!  They also had a shelf where you could "drop and shop".  We piled our stuff on the shelf, wrote our names on a sticky note next to it, and went to have lunch.
The inside of the store and all of the merchandise was just so, so pretty.
It made my heart flutter!
So much color and pattern everywhere you looked.
I thought the prices were reasonable too! There were a few things like cake holders and teapots that were very expensive.  But there were plenty of things that weren't!
My girls enjoyed looking at the dishes some, but mostly wanted to look at the kid items.  I did wish they would have had more for the kids that weren't so expensive.  I let each girl get a small stuffed animal for $10.  The focus certainly wasn't on kid items though.  I guess I am spoiled by the awesome selection at Freckled Hen Farmhouse!

I came home with a kimono in blue and these beads, which I adore!
We settled down for lunch and ordered the cobb salad, asian noodle salad, and lasagna for the girls to share.  Let me give my honest thoughts without sounding negative, hopefully: First, I am dealing with pretty big tooth pain and can't chew a sandwich so my options for ordering were limited.  Second, I didn't realize the restaurant is actually a bunch of tables off to the side IN the store.  So all of the noise (and it's a lot) is right there the whole time you're eating.  My highly sensitive personality was feeling on high alert being next to so many people and so much noise.  Anna said the noise was "making her tired."  I think if the restaurant were in a separate room, or even had a wall separating it, would feel more calm and relaxing.  As for our food, it was just ok.  Maybe we should have ordered something different because based off everything I read online it was supposed to be out of this world amazing.  Or maybe we're just really good cooks at home. :)

After lunch we walked upstairs to the bakery, which was bright and cheery with quiet! Hooray!
I ordered some cinnamon rolls to take home and "Cowboy Coffee".  It was good, although very sweet.  I prefer my cowboy coffee (a.k.a. made by Brett) black.

**We tried the cinnamon rolls that night and they were the best cinnamon rolls I have EVER, ever had!**
The view from upstairs, into the shop! This was a normal to small crowd for the length of time we were there.

Before heading out to the Lodge we walked across the street to Charley's Sweet Shop.  We were still so full from everything else we just bought a few taffies.  It was cute inside though and the ice-cream looked amazing!
Last, my sweet mom-in-law drove us the 30 minutes out to The Lodge.  I had no idea it was dirt road most of the way and she had just cleaned her car.  But she was a good sport about it.

The view from their lodge is just completely breath-taking, as was the drive out.  I am truly a country girl at heart! All that open space, all those pastures and cows and horses.....it suits me very well.
I mean, this is the view from their deck! I could sit out here all day!
The inside of the lodge was just dreamy.  The decor was simple and rustic but so pretty.  I tucked a few ideas in my mind for our own house!
It was also really cool to see little notes people wrote and left for Ree.

*gasp!* The shelves with kitchen props were my absolute favorite.  I mean, can you imagine getting to play with all this?! Dream job!
The bedrooms were so simple, clean, and relaxing.  I could stay here for a week or forever!

A dream!

You all, this was just my favorite! I wanted to package all these pretty dishes up and bring them home with me.  My mom commented that it was all a bit much and I immediately said I didn't think so at all! I would plaster my whole house with all that color and pattern if I could.  I think it's all just so very happy.
Isn't this amazing?! This is the view of the lodge.  Over to the right is the stove where she stands for the cooking show. We took several pictures there on my mom's phone that I'll have to share later.

Overall it was a really fun trip!  I always like seeing new places and actually going and doing what's on my bucket list.  I'm now ready to buy everything PW I can get my hands on and make my house feel like the lodge.  Kidding, sort of.

Have you been to the Merc? What's on your bucket list?
