I started to call this a "real-life outfit post", but then the title made me laugh because of course it's real life! I mean, as opposed to what? My imaginary costumes I put on?! The point is, I understand completely that my outfit posts aren't quite in line with the lifestyle blogger's way of showing outfits. I still don't know how to appropriately pop out one knee to produce a sudden thigh gap, I'm still using a cheap over the door mirror for these pictures, and yes-the mirror usually still needs cleaning. (lol) You know what though? I am here for all of it because this is real life folks! I don't have anyone following me around to get the perfect outfit/body photograph, but I DO feel so much better when I put a bit of thought into what I'm wearing. Of course, being on summer time means a lot of cute t-shirts and jeans. Done. But, in-between those simple pairings, here are a few things I'm really loving to wear!
We'll start with the above photo. My shoes are Universal Thread brand from Target and have a bit of a platform. They are SO comfortable. For real. I can wear these all day long without any trouble. Jeans are from Wal-Mart, my polka-dot shirt is from H&M, and my kimono is thrifted! I'm really loving the kimono look and would like to get some more.
My pink glasses are from Zenni Optical, my favorite website EVER. Seriously. Once you load your prescription to the site you can order a pair of glasses in just a matter of minutes and they are so inexpensive! This pair cost maybe $20? They fit perfectly and I really love them.
*rosy glasses for a rosy gal*
I am loving these earrings I bought while in Florida! They are big hoops with colorful fabric tied on. I also wear this leather cuff that says "Light" almost daily, along with a beaded bracelet my niece Kyla makes. Her bracelets are my fave! She adds a pendant or charm with a word of your choice. This one says "hope" and I have another that says "look at me", my reminder to look Jesus in the face and not my problems!
These fake birks from Wal-Mart are SO comfortable! I've worn them so much this summer.
(geez-the mirror is so bad in this one, sorry folks!)
(just a little Nerf gun fight before church, lol)
This dress I ordered from a very cute online store called Citrus and Lemon. It was my first time ordering from an online store, other than Old Navy. I bought two dresses on sale and went by the size chart, which was very accurate. I ordered a bit on the big side, so this dress is actually a large. I think a medium would have fit even better, but I was afraid of things being too small. This dress is so very soft and the fabric is such good quality. I was seriously very impressed with both dresses I ordered and will be a repeat customer! All the clothes in their shop are just adorable!
My *only* wish is that their site had models of all different shapes and sizes. This is a HUGE deal to me.
Date night! Dress from Old Navy. I plan to wear a tank underneath and pair it with a jean jacket to make it work appropriate.
Date breakfast outfit! These shorts are Universal Thread from Target. My shirt was thrifted and a young college age gal (our waitress) complimented it at breakfast and asked me where I got it.
I wore my pink shirt exactly like it later that night and someone else asked me where I got it.
Made me laugh! I told them both-either from a vintage shop or thrifted! Maybe there is something to my way of shopping after all.
Outfit for church on a rainy day! These pants are also from Wal-Mart, and my top is thrifted.
This weekend I'm headed with my best friends to Tulsa to shop at thrift stores and I cannot wait!!
I'll try to take some pictures to show you the fun and process behind shopping thrifted stuff!
Are you a thrift store shopper or not? I find that some people REALLY, really don't like it and would never shop there and others are huge fans like myself!
