hello from school girls and a working mom!

Morning friends! We are one day into school, starting on Day 2.  I have just a few minutes to pop in.  More accurately, about three minutes.  You know I don't do short well.

But you all and this space have been on my mind.  How are you, truly?  Has your school year started well, whether you homeschool or do public?  Are jitters mixed in with joy?

We are getting in the swing of things and getting used to me working while the girls are at school.  It has been working really well so far, meaning everyone has been fed, dressed, and to school on time.  For a couple days in, I'll take it.

I'm going to be popping in here over the next few weeks probably a bit sporadically. I have photos galore taken, but not edited or culled through.  I plan to catch up in the next few weeks.

Until then will you please comment and tell me how you are and what you would like to see more of on the blog this fall?  I adore spilling my heart here but also hope to blog more frequently with other topics like favorite recipes, books, podcasts, or clothes.  Don't worry, I won't become a full-time lifestyle or fashion blogger, lol.  That'll never happen! :)

Just lend me your thoughts on what you come away with from this space, or at least what you would LIKE to come away with.

Until then, I'm cheering you on and hoping you get a few minutes with some breathing room, a cup of coffee or matcha tea, and some good music in the background.

Leave me your comments! I'll read them and try really hard to respond promptly. :)

  1. My kids don't start school until September 4th, so we have a ways to go yet. How am I? If I sit with that question for a few minutes I become overwhelmed. I am stressed financially, overwhelmed with clutter and trying to purge our house, trying to adopt a more minimalistic lifestyle. But your blog and your pictures make me happy. Your ramblings from the heart make my heart happy. I love seeing your crafts and your happy home.

    1. I am so glad you're here Rochelle. I am sorry to hear you're feeling overwhelmed but am honored you were honest enough to share. We need more people being honest like that! I hope you can make some progress on your house and that it brings a sense of calm to you. Lucky you to not have to start school until the 4th! We have *almost* made it through one week and we are tired!

  2. Things are good at my house. Not perfect, but that's okay. Changing my expectations to be more realistic. Starting a new phase in life...going from full time to part time work and staying full time mom. Lots of emotions but my baby's smile is the light of the world. Love your blog! Would love more nature photos and recipes! Thanks for sharing happies with us!

    1. Hi Erin! Things aren't near perfect at my house either. Not at all! We've been having some renovations done the past two weeks in addition to me going back to work. This introvert needs a clean, quiet house, lol. I'm so glad you're getting more time with your baby! :) :) I'll try to share some recipes soon!

  3. I am retired but happily still have my large family living nearby (including 11 grandchildren). So life is busy which I love, although I sometimes get frustrated by not having the physical strength that I used to have to do everything I want to do. So a new mindset is on the cards for me. I love seeing your dear family and hearing what is on your heart. I also enjoy your adventures with food and seeing your creativity. Your blog gives me food for thought and hope for the younger generation in a sometimes difficult world.

    1. Hi Val! Your life sounds full and fun!! :) Thank-you so much for your sweet words about my blog. I sometimes worry that I am too in my head on the blog, when I'm really not like that all the time in real life. I must just dump my brain here, lol. Happy Friday!!

  4. Honestly, Sara, I just come here to catch up on your life with family. It's so refreshing to me, to still have a blog to read that isn't trying to sell me something or give me some kind of self help! It's nice to just see the day-to-day posts about your photography and daily living and even the struggles that make you a real person :) It inspires me to keep writing about similar things.
