seeing still life.

Sometimes I admittedly, drive myself silly.
Take these flowers for instance.
We came home last week from the most wonderful day ever at my grandparent's house.  My Grandma and Papaw to be exact.  (hi! I know you're reading!)  I remember playing outside their house and among the flowers/gardens when I was a girl so taking MY two girls there now is just about as rosy as it gets.

They sent us home with the most beautiful bouquet of flowers and every time I walked past them I must have thought of at least a dozen ideas for photographing them.  Finally one evening I couldn't take it any longer and told Brett that I just had to capture them. It's not how I try to get my brain to work, it just does.  Sometimes I can quiet the ideas but other times for reasons I can't explain I just have to put them to work.  So that's exactly what I did.
These are my still life shots.
I hope you sit back and enjoy.

Here's to doing the things our fingers and souls were made to do.

  1. I can see why you had to capture them! They take my breath away. I'm trying to expand my varieties of peonies and would really like to find one like that first one! Also, your quilt is perfection.

    1. Thank-you so much Jen! What kinds of peonies do you have? The quilt was a lucky find for around $30 (very cheap for our area!)
