Schooled by an 8-month Old

Anna Ruth has been schooling her mama in a few things..
such as dad's hat is special and grab-worthy (not sweaty and worn out, as her mama thought. ) ,
trips to the grocery store are a friendly, fun affair with lots of new friends to meet :),
a bit of daily exercise is good for a healthy body,
but too much worrying over it can leave a person very unhappy
 :),

sliding on the wood floor is a blast,
and high-self confidence while doing so is a must,

any small gesture can be turned into a fun game,
 joy and laughter matter,
life should be grabbed with all you've got!,
and last-a bit of rest and reflecting does us all good.
:) Such wisdom from my little one!

She keeps going..and going..

We came home after church today (we are normally at Nana's house!)
We had an impromptu photo session. Then, Anna Ruth jumped in the jumparoo while we ate lunch.
We heard she jumped the entire time (except for one diaper change) in the jumparoo in the nursery this morning! She's like the Energizer Bunny :)
and we wouldn't have it any other way!

I love that Anna Ruth loudly and energetically
stakes her claim in the world.
She's cuddly at times, yet fierce and talkative,
playful,
very, very funny,
curious about everything! (even our country flies)

Random Rosy List :)

 Rosy List #4!
1.) A "sold" order from my Etsy shop
 2.) fabric, in color piles
3.) working on sunshine pins for the Craft Weekend ladies

4.) Anna Ruth's constant state of acrobatics in her crib :)
5.) deeeelicious food I made last night. Check Thrice the Spice this week for recipe!
6.) new "art" for house...love, love, love. Found at Target (on sale!)

 7.) Sewing...happy colors :)
8.) love notes in chicken pot pie
9.) Discovering a new (to me!) salty snack that's delicious and no fat. (if you know where I can find this stuff-do tell! Walgreen's is completely out-even their warehouse!)

Today I have laughed and laughed, and laughed.
Anna Ruth's energy, waves (she can wave now!), and antics are so funny. :)
love her.

Opportunity awaits :)

These are my new "business cards". It is actually a 4 x 6 photo print that I am using as a business card. :) I had two opportunities come up with my Etsy shop I am thankful for.
One is a custom order a lady contacted me about for a little boy's baby shower! I am making two banners and a fabric flower corsage for the mama. :) I wasn't able to get the fabric she originally wanted, but she still kept the order with a new idea I had. Whew! :)
Secondly, a a lady from a blog I read, love, and have mentioned before :http://megduerksen.typepad.com/whatever/   has a Craft Weekend at her home in Kansas. It's where 15 women come and stay at her house for a night or two and craft, and shop in a barn for antiques and vintage finds. Totally my kind of weekend!
She has sponsors that send items for the ladies at Craft Weekend...in turn, the sponsors get their item and shop advertised for free on her Craft Weekend blog (which is read by thousands). Also, the 15 women are left with an item from your shop and business card too! Which hopefully they'll tell their friends about. :)
I contacted Meg, the Craft Weekend host, and I'm going to send 15 sunshine pins for her Craft Weekend! I'm believing that the time I spend making the pins will be returned in new customers hopefully :)

God (and Brett!) is continually encouraging my crafty endeavor. :)

seep in sunshine

Our days have been so sunny. Anna and I have been taking our quilt, bag of toys and books, and camera outside to let the sun seep in our spirits and hearts :)

Anna has helped me flip through a few books I checked out from the library. Several added to my amazon wish list. I'm craving books more. Computer less. More on that later.

Outside is my happy place. :) Birds to be heard and seen...mama birds bringing food to nests, clouds, warm sunshine, prickly grass, beautiful patterns in trees, rustling grass in the pasture, soft cooling wind....

Sweet, lasting friendship

Last night our dear friends Luis, Regina, and little Marcel came for dinner.
They are in town for the weekend..headed back to Texas today. :(
Anna Ruth and Marcel both got to stay up past bedtime. They were so friendly with each other! and silly :).
Anna really liked interacting with Marcel and let Regina hold her too.
I'm so glad our kids are getting to enjoy this special friendship  too.

Sweet, lasting friends :)

I've got a new blog! Come see. :)

Room for the Rosy  is my new blog. I hope you'll come see.
