A few weeks ago I shared a quick message on Instagram that read something like "BIG meeting about styling a vow renewal this afternoon. Taking my girls with me. Pray it goes well!". Off we went, the girls and I, to meet a friend about styling her big night. Long story short, I got the job! I should really back up and say that another friend from our home church recommended me for this job, just out of the blue. Wasn't that so very generous and kind of her? I sure thought so.
Over the course of the last couple of weeks I've been working away, making lists, sewing bunting, pulling props, and painting a very large photo backdrop.
This is how it all came together! The renewal was last weekend and it was such a treat for me to get to decorate the Garden Room in Fayetteville for the night. I mean, it couldn't have been more fun! I had a blast and the gal renewing her vows was pleased with everything as well. Win-win!
For the tables I did some layering, starting with a vintage fabric runner (all the tables had different fabrics), shutters, wood rounds, and vases/votives. The guys working at the Garden Room helped tape cardboard to the back of the shutters so that the guests wouldn't end up with a vase of flowers in their lap!
The flowers were from Dripping Springs Farm in Huntsville and were absolutely gorgeous. You can even purchase flowers by the bucket, which is what Mandy did! I would highly recommend them! They are also found at the Fayetteville Farmer's Market.
This was the photo backdrop I painted and it was so much fun to do! Like I sorta have plans to paint another one, just for fun... :)
The empty crates here were ready to hold popcorn for a mini popcorn bar.
I also decorated with some fresh basil, sage, mint, and lemongrass from my house.
It smelled lovely!
This opportunity was one that just showed up, in the middle of an ordinary day.
I'm so glad it did!
This was so much fun and such an honor to do.
Thanks for taking a peek and cheering me on!
Wow it all looks so beautiful! And I LOVE the painted backdrop, it's so pretty! You should upload it to spoonflower and then it would make the most adorable fabric for little girl dresses!
ReplyDeleteThank-you Carie! Can you believe I have never used Spoonflower? I have always wanted to but I suppose the price tag stopped me in my tracks. Maybe for a special winter project :)
DeleteYou did such a great job! I would have loved wandering around each table, picking my favorite ☺️ And I love the buntings!!
ReplyDeleteThank-you miss ann! :) You can never, ever have too much bunting in my opinion!
DeleteOh how gorgeous! Love the vintage fabrics as runners, and the colourful background you painted. This couple must have been beyond happy with all the work, including the detailed flowers/candle centrepieces. You have a real eye for detail!
ReplyDeleteThank-you so much Nanci, your words of encouragement mean a lot!
DeleteIt was perfect. You did an amazing job putting it all together. Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteThank-you again Mandy, for the opportunity! What a sweet family you are!

ReplyDeleteThank-you Val! I would have loved to style your Golden Anniversary! :)
DeleteLooks incredible!!
ReplyDeleteThank-you Bekah!
DeleteThis is gorgeous! When our daughter got married three years ago, we hired a "stylist" and it was the BEST decision! We did a lot of the work ourselves but she pulled it all together and made it beautiful. Maybe there's a new career in your future? :-)
ReplyDeleteIf you're interested (or nosy!), our daughter's wedding was featured on the popular blog "Style Me Pretty" (thanks to the hard work of our stylist, who made the submission!). Here's a link to the post. Maybe it will provide some inspiration for you too.. Happy Day!!
